Changing from Sunday School to a Children's Church or Combo Plan

With the release of Children's Church between 2023-2024 for all 5 of our DIG IN programs, there have been lots of questions from our friends in ministry with existing accounts regarding the ability to use those new Children's Church Activity Blocks within the Lesson Builder.

Existing accounts that previously purchased programs with the Sunday School plan, all that was available at that time, likely created Sunday School classrooms. Those Sunday School classrooms do not allow Children's Church Activity Blocks to be accessed when building new lessons within the Lesson Builder section.

You may even encounter an error message, similar to the one shown below:



That information is correct, the classrooms created for Sunday School plans will not allow the use of Children's Church activity blocks when building lessons.

Please select Create New Classroom to proceed:





As shown above, we have selected a Combo Classroom. Please provide a Classroom name and click "Create Classroom" to save it.

Otherwise, if using a Children's Church plan or wanting to only utilize Children's Church activity blocks for that classroom's lessons with a Combo plan, please select the dot next to Children's Church Classroom and proceed with the rest of the naming/saving steps.

Note: Only the Director profile within a DIG IN account has access to Create New Classrooms. If you are a Teacher profile within your account, please share this article and ask your Director to setup a new classroom for you within their profile if needed.

Children's Church classrooms function differently than Sunday School, in the aspect that Sunday School classrooms can be made for specific ages with system tailored content and Children's Church does not tailor content to specific ages since it is a one-room situation that includes all ages.

Note: Combo classrooms will allow Sunday School activity blocks to be added either as One Room or a specific Age-Level. We recommend selecting the One Room option from the drop down menu before dragging-and-dropping Sunday School activity blocks into a Combo classroom. However, it is entirely up to you how you decide to customize the lessons to best fit the situation.
